Company history


1885
Carl Müller establishes the company which produces hardware for the construction trade.

1935
The company is moved to a larger site within Hagen-Haspe. Management is now the responsibility of son Max Müller and son-in-law Ewald Borggräfe

1959
For reasons of capacity, parts of the company are moved to Gevelsberg-Vogelsang. The main focus of the production is in the manufacture of safety components for the mining industry.

1964
Following the death of his father Max, Dieter Müller joins the management.

1980
Production and administration are reunited at today’s site in Gevelsberg, Hagener Straße 20. The production programme now includes essential accessories for the scaffolding trade and for the freight wagon construction industry.

1985
Following an operational split, the production business is successfully continued with the newly established Müller & Borggräfe GmbH. Mr Harald Stressig replaces his deceased father-in-law Ewald Borggräfe as a member of the management.

1991
The (mainly) domestic business activities are expanded to include foreign countries in both western and eastern Europe, in particular products for the mining and freight wagon construction industries.

1997
First certification of the company according to DIN EN ISO 9001.

1999
Management is handed over to Mr Wolfgang Müller. Components for conveying and storage technology are now also produced by the company. The company is licensed to perform welding work on steel structures according to DIN 18800-7 and in the field of track vehicles according to DIN 6700-2.

2003
A conveyor belt which enables the processing of coiled goods with a material thickness of up to 8mm is put into service.

2007
A further conveyor belt of the same design is installed. The expansion of the business activities in the field of commercial vehicles technology requires this step.

2009
The company is licensed to perform welding works in the field of track vehicles according to DIN EN 15085-2.

2010
Formation of subsidiary company Müller & Borggräfe Polska Sp. z.o.o. located at Gliwice.
